The entrance to Lindau-Insel in 2015, back when it still was called Lindau Hbf.
Things around here have changed massively since then. The line to Munich (on the left) is now electrified, and the double-decker train leaving the station hauled by a Class 218 diesel locomotive has long been replaced with FLIRT 3s operated by Arverio.
The EuroCity train on the right, likely coming from Zürich, is about to change engines here. The Re 421 electric locomotive will be replaced by two more Class 218 locomotives before the train changes direction and continues to Munich. These EuroCity services are now also operated with EMUs, and they only stop at the newly built Lindau-Reutlin station, where they do not need to change direction.
